Frostpunk 2 DLC Guides

Frostpunk 2 DLC expansions add substantial new content beyond the base campaign and Utopia Builder. Fractured Utopias (December 2025) transformed Utopia Builder with new factions, over 100 narrative events, and faction-specific law branches. Breach of Trust (June 2026) introduced an entirely new story scenario set in New Edinburgh, where volcanic eruption threatens the city with a unique survival challenge unlike anything in the main campaign.

This hub covers all DLC content with strategy guides, YouTube video walkthroughs, and practical tips for each expansion. Whether you are preparing for the volcanic crisis in Breach of Trust or exploring new faction paths in Fractured Utopias, these guides help you get the most from each expansion.

Breach of Trust DLC (June 2026)

Breach of Trust is Frostpunk 2's second major DLC, launching June 23, 2026. It features a new story scenario set in New Edinburgh, a city facing catastrophic volcanic eruption. Players must manage the Volcanic Night mechanic, construct Emergency Shelter Hubs, and make difficult decisions about evacuating citizens via airships while the Generator Core fails.

The free 1.6 update accompanying Breach of Trust added the Twilight Waters map and Volcanic Night challenge to Utopia Builder, plus the Fishing Hub building exclusive to Aurora map variants. Read the Breach of Trust guide for complete scenario walkthrough and strategy.

Fractured Utopias DLC (December 2025)

Fractured Utopias was Frostpunk 2's first major DLC, launching December 8, 2025 across PC and consoles. It deepened the Utopia Builder mode with new selectable factions, exclusive buildings, and over 100 new narrative events that play out as your city ideology shifts. The expansion embraced the political faction mechanics as the core sandbox experience.

New factions in Fractured Utopias can be selected from session start, each with unique passive bonuses and faction-specific law branches. Read the Fractured Utopias guide for faction details, event highlights, and Utopia Builder integration.

Version 1.6 Free Update

The 1.6 patch accompanying Breach of Trust added free content to all players regardless of DLC ownership. New Utopia Builder map Twilight Waters and the Volcanic Night challenge mode became available to all players. The patch also adjusted Rush Researches duration from 30 weeks to 20 weeks with reduced speed bonus, and fixed population calculation bugs.

Fishing Hub building is exclusive to Aurora map variants in Utopia Builder. This new food production structure provides alternative calorie generation for players exploring the new Twilight Waters map.

Endless Mode

Endless Mode in Frostpunk 2 is not a separate game mode but a special unlock within Utopia Builder. Reach week 2000 of any Utopia Builder session regardless of difficulty to unlock Endless Mode as a session option. Once unlocked, Endless Mode can be activated when starting new Utopia Builder sessions for true infinite play without victory conditions.

Note that the session where you reach week 2000 is not itself infinite. You must return to the menu and start a new session with Endless Mode enabled to play infinitely. Read the Endless Mode guide for tips on reaching week 2000 efficiently.
